Guess whose back...back again
It's my back. Tell a friend.
For the past 2-3 years I've had an ongoing back problem. I think it developed due to 15+ years of playing basketball, but I have no real evidence to support that claim. It's just a theory.
However, I'm finding that unless someone has experienced true back pain, they're often unsympathetic or ignorant to how debilitating it can be.
I have a disc injury that applies pressure to a nerve in my back. It's enough to make me walk like an baboon sometimes.
That's when I love receiving unsolicited advice from someone who currently has no back pain.
A teacher at my school dismissively told me to "take an advil, get a heating pack, you'll be fine".
No. Actually. I won't. Because even medications like skelaxin and codeine don't provide sufficient relief.
It's getting better though which is the good news.
On another topic, I'm tempted to start a week of posts that just turn into tangents. Grumpy Bastard Week we could call it. Just wanting to allow myself to be publicly annoyed and/or angry. Or is every week Grumpy Bastard Week on this blog?
Maybe the next week will follow with only positive and lauding posts to help some of you get through the negativity.

Your blog. Your choice. Personally, I'm drawn to the Grumpy Bastard Week, but that's probably not anything you wouldn't have figured out.
