Grumpy Bastard Week: Dave Matthews Band

I know there is a federal law that says if you were born after 1977 you have to think Dave Matthews Band is God's gift to the music industry. But I think Dave Matthews Band sucks.

Playing 72 instruments at the same time does not automatically mean it's good music. This criticism will often lead a DMB fan to invite you to "come to a show sometime, bro. You need to see them live to really appreciate it."

I'm sure they're a fun band to party to. They wouldn't have such a massive high school and college following if they weren't.

But in my opinion Dave Matthews Band produces music that doesn't ask a lot of the listener. And that's fine. I'm sure there's a time and place for music that goes well with beer and doesn't require much brainpower.

I just have no interest in it. And I think Dave Matthews' voice sucks.
