Grammys, etc.

I have no complaints. I'm actually happier about who didn't win.

I would have liked to see Mariah (my sentimental favorite) come away with another award or two, but I won't lose sleep over it.

U2 doesn't peel my potato the way it does some of my friends, but they're a great band and I have no objection to them winning Album of the Year and Song of the Year...though I'd have given the awards to Coldplay for X&Y and "Fix You".

And I'm actually happy Kanye West lost the major awards. I'm pretty Kanye'd out right now. And I think a lot of the attention thrown at him comes from the fact that he appeals to Whitey. He dresses like a preppy, his lyrics are mostly non-violent, and his tracks are catchy. He's an amazing producer, I'll never deny that. But as a rapper he's pretty average.

I'm also glad Paul McCartney didn't walk away with any significant hardware the Grammys love to bestow awards on less deserving old farts (see Steely Dan beating Eminem in 2001). I's Paul McCartney. A whipper-snapper like me is not allowed to call a living legend an old fart.

Fun iPod moment of the week: While having my songs on shuffle, I went from Nine Inch Nails' "The Mark Has Been Made" to Andy Williams' "Moon River". Yes I know all the words to that song.

And I think everyone should see this video from a few years ago.

why does it list 'nookie' as the album?

I didn't get a chance to see any of the grammys; I'm not too disappointed by that. In looking up who won what, I was a sad to find that The Gorillaz didn't win anything. I like them, and that's my two cents.

I love Coldplay and am seeing them in concert next month. I didn't get to watch the Grammy's (except for Madonna's preformance, which IMO sucked), but someone told me that Coldplay's preformance wasn't all that great. What did you think of it?

Wasn't Paul McCartney the star in that 80's murder mystery tv show, "Murder She Wrote"?

I'm so pissed at her for leaving all of us to fend for our own spectrum of emotions that are her fault. I hate what she did to my friends.
