The Unimportant Stuff

As a sequel to my last post, I decided I might as well take advantage of the larger readership I have now, because who knows when it will vanish?

So here are some of the petty, superficial things I want to say.

The Simpsons is the greatest TV show of all time. Pure genius. I'll admit that it's past its prime, but it's still one of the funniest shows on TV. And don't even try to tell me that the very average Family Guy is better. I have very little respect for that show.

I've been listening to hip hop since I was in 5th grade, and Eminem is the best rapper I've ever heard. And I still contend that 90% of his fans have no idea how good he really is. His lyrical structure and delivery are incredible. The fans just like the beats and the 'f--- you' attitude.

24 is the FAR AND AWAY the best show on TV right now. So much more intense and fun than anything else I've ever seen. TV is not supposed to have the effect on me that 24 does. I can't get enough.

With all due apologies to my closest friends, I think Coldplay is the best band in the world right now...not U2. Sorry Bono.

I think Edward Norton, Daniel Day-Lewis, and Sean Penn are currently the best actors in Hollywood. Norton should have 2 Oscars already.

Conan O'Brien is the funniest man alive in my opinion. We should all enter the Cone Zone more often. Click on the link and view the Walker Texas Ranger clips on the left side of the page. Outstanding!

As I duck behind a rock to shield myself from the bullets, I'd like to say that Garden State, Napoleon Dynamite, and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind are all overrated. Don't shoot!

Sideways was the best movie of 2004 and should have won Best Picture. And Paul Giamatti should have been nominated for Best Actor.

Nick Lachey is the coolest man alive.

I'm not exactly sure how it will happen, but I will marry Alicia Keys.

Coke is better than Pepsi.

Macs are better than PC's (as I type this on a PC).

Cubs chicks are way hotter than Sox chicks.

Gino's East is the best deep dish in Chicago.

I think that's enough for now...

And here's a piece of bad news. Somehow, my NYC pictures came back BLANK! They didn't just not turn out, the actual pictures aren't even on the roll of film. How f'ing lame is that?? Fortunately, my friend took a bunch of pics too so some of our experience will be salvaged. But still...that's a big letdown. It's not a beautiful letdown. I was really excited to post a picture I took of a giant Robert Goulet poster, but that won't be happening now. Sorry folks.

The other NYC pictures will be up later tomorrow.

I agree with you about Coldplay. I love them and wish they would preform near where I live, so I could see them in person. :D

Finally! I am so glad I found someone who agrees with me that Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is overrated!

Oh, I so agree with you on 24. And Coldplay. And Coke.

Conan, on the other hand, I don't get him...maybe it's just me.

;)

I agree with many of your choices (Coldplay, 24, Coke, Paul Giammeti, etc) and I disagree with some (Family Guy Rules!; Jon Stewart is way funnier than Conan). But what the hell!? Do you have a crush on Nick Lachey too?! What on earth makes you think he's so great? Now you're scaring me.
